COMMUNITY SPIRIT

UPPER CANADA OFFICE SYSTEMS IN THE COMMUNITY

At Upper Canada Office Systems we understand the value and responsibility in contributing to the community in which we all work and live. Our employees are encouraged to volunteer for local charities with the full support of the company through allowance of company time, use of company resources such as printing, and monetary donations. Many of our employees serve on boards of local charities or as active, engaged members. Allocation of donations to charities is in support of employee interests and decided through employee involvement. Charities and initiatives we support include: Almost Home, Kingston Interval House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kingston, Independent Living Centre Kingston, Kingston Humane Society, Partners in Mission Food Bank and Hospice Kingston. We also play a role in charitable community events including the annual Chamber of Commerce Women's Golf and Almost Home Bid of Entertainment.

We are particularly proud of our initiative to re-purpose excess furniture for not-for-profit organizations. We keep a database of requests from charities in need of donations and when we find products that match those needs, we deliver and install the product free of charge. We encourage our customers to find a charity in need of their excess furniture and then we help by facilitating the pick up, delivery and installation.

If you belong to a not for profit organization that could benefit from this program, and send us your request.
